I think there are only villages in the UK. I'm just glad it isn't for bathrooms or cathiters.
Do you ever wonder why spammers do it, I mean post spam where it isn't wanted.. surely they don't get queries from it. It is just like all the idiots who call my cellphone with some stupid recording or worse in person, trying to sell me something. I would NEVER buy anything or even accept a gift from someone who calls me. I will tell them where they can try to make a sale
though I doubt they take the advice...
If no one ever bought anything from a spammer or a telemarketer then they would go away... but Noooo some idiots must be buying stuff from them. Thanks a lot, whoever you are.
I like to call telemarketers back multiple times or answer then ask them to hold on for a minute... then see how long they will sit there or answer the phone and say nothing or repeat everything they say back to them... I think I have too much time on my hands... no wait, that isn't time... BRB.

As I've said before, I used to work for this kitchen company in one of its previous guises during the 90's. They're notorious in the UK. They have a huge telemarketing and door to door canvassing operation going on. And believe me, they make a tidy packet. I worked a few months as a canvasser before going into sales. The canvassing consists of knocking on something like 300 doors per day. And of those 300 doors, 290 of them would tell you to go F yourself in no uncertain terms. The remaining 10 would be people who had been thinking about getting their kitchens done. As soon as they reveal that spark of interest, you're straight in there with your best patter. And they WANT to talk kitchens! Of those 10, you might get 5 or so interested in having a sales appointment (in the guise of a "free kitchen design session"). Of that 5, maybe 1 or 2 would agree to have an immediate appointment, while the other 3 would agree to schedule one in the next couple of days. Of that 3, 1 or 2 would actually go through with it. And of the 5, you'd get one or two who would end up buying a kitchen on finance. That was a very good sales result for the company (I sometimes got them in the region of 30,000 quids worth of business in a week) and in terms of how much the canvasser gets paid per confirmed sales appointment, it's pretty decent money.
Oh and in terms of other kinds of spam, you'd be surprised how much people are making from junk emails, especially the Nigerian scammers. A girl I once went out with told me that her family had discovered that her grandmother had been taken in by one of these spammers, befriended him and ended up wiring him over $100,000 of her savings.
