I'm still on PE v4.  Anything newer than that is only for people with money to burn.  Ya.
I wish with our licenses, we had access to the back versions..   I'd love to see 8.5...   I have a gut feeling that it is/was, "a great vintage."

Ya know I was thinking that last night.
It would be nice if they offered like a membership kinda thing where ya paid a certain price to join then gave you access to any downloads with big discounts on new releases.

It would have to automatically update your account with the links as they happen or they could make a special website just for members only to be able to access to what ever they wanted.

Ya figure on average ya spend $400-500 for a Producer version, then annual upgrades at $100.

For a $1000 Id be all over that as a new customer

2012 was, "the year of the great software on sale blitz."  As far as I am concerned.

Lots of companies, not just Cakewalk, started to have software sales and prices that I had never seen before.

I bought a lot of these softwares, and I have promised myself, "I'm not doing that again."
Until 2012, my software collection was really tiny..   Synths were $200, compressor bundles were $249, DAWs were $500, $600...

Now..  A lot of these prices are still the same, but every other week something goes on sale.

What I also notice is that, "bug fixes rarely happen, the quality of a lot -- not all, companies has fallen to brick, and a lot of this software is akin to buying disposable razors at walgreens."

Some of my software is still very much prized..

But a lot of these vst plugins, and a lot of these daws and tools, I am taking a step back.  From and now, and for the foreseeable future, when I see sale, I am creating a mental RED FLAG.  I would prefer quality, over cheap!!   I am not going to be so duped, and taken out of my hard earned cash for these softwares anymore.

Edit = aside from a couple of upgrades and updates that I had to purchase.  2012 has been a big disappointment, in terms of the $ I spent on my software collection.

All software I purchased before 2012, I am/was extremely happy with. = 9 out of 10.

2012 = 5 out of 10.
