No doubt, it's a safeguard to protect those innocently unaware of the UK's lowest common denominator populist rag, The Sun newspaper.
 
It's sales are based on the idea of making normal people feel superior to the similarly normal people they like to portray having meltdowns.
 
Oh, and a few gratituitous boobie pictures thrown in helps the circulation figures too.
 
There are a few more insidious diseases than the one Gazza has, and working for an organization such as that and passing it off as public interest is probably one of those.

Like Mitch Hedberg said, alcoholism is the only illness people can get mad at you for having:

I see Chris Evans is one of the 'celebs' paying for Gazza to go into re-hab in the US. Oh, the irony...

+ several million. The Sun has a lot to answer for, and I sincerely hope that in light of the latest Hillsborough inquiry/inquest, that RAT Kelvin Mackenzie is nailed up as a result

The fact that the Sun circulates at all is a sad, sad thing.

And I have to agree that everything that Jonbouy says here is bang on, in my opinion. I have known just two real alcoholics so far, on a personal level, and it is soul destroying, for all concerned.
