You know, for a while Cirque considered the possibility of sending the show there for a couple of month. If I were a religious man, I'd say that my prayers were answered...

OK... at the risk of being perceived as crude, insensitive, a jerk, whatever other word....

Have you heard some of those Mexican bands...?  Could be classified as justifiable homicide.....ya?

And yeah... I lobbied hard to get our church's youth mission trip to Juarez Mexico canceled.... which they did..... eventually, and then the following year they decided to go into the Veracruz state, further south. Again I lobbied to get it canceled and was told "That is where our Hispanic pastor was from and it was a very safe area"..... so they were going.....up until the drug gang in Veracruz decided to kill some rivals...... on the sidewalk, directly in front of the hotel where out kids would be staying. I had already pulled my daughters out of both trips. The heck with the money..... my daughters are priceless to me.

Good for Herb. It is good to hear someone standing up and saying what needs to be said. All this stuff is horrible and I fear that it is not going to remain in Mexico or other countries. Too many young people are uneducated these days and too many don't even know what morals are much less have good morals.. AND (and talk from our brilliant government about gun control) is why you cannot even buy .22 cal ammo. There is some 12 guage and some .357 and I've seen a little bit of .40 and .45 but it is overpriced. People are buying everything they can get their hands on... I need some hyper velocity .22 in case anyone sees some.

I bet the home security business is booming too.

BTW, Obama is shutting down TARS (Tethered Aerostat Radar System), the southern border radar system. One link, there are many: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2982677/posts come on in drug planes, terrorists... the door is open.
Not a good place to make cuts me thinks.

The mexican gangs are in just about every town and they are ruthless... running the competition out of business.  In this small town I have heard that we have identified 42+ gangs.

As far as ammo.... the shelves are bare and it's being rationed when it does come in...and at high prices.

Trying to find certain types of guns is also very difficult.

You do know that several government agencies that have no business with ammo ...like TSA,  FDA, and others, have bought hundreds of millions of rounds of hollow point ammo in the popular calibers. Now the interesting thing is this. The Geneva Convention prohibits the use of hollow point ammo on the battle field against foreign troops in a theater of war...... so..... could I assume that it's officially prohibited for use against foreign troops on a battle field,,,,,, BUT not prohibited against civilians in our own country..... would that be a fair assessment?

That would be the ONLY explanation Herb

Have you seen the mess with the Joint Force exercise going on in Florida to supposedly be in prep for something else where?   No need to be flying BlackHawks down the streets of Miami shooting blanks and the public not aware of the purpose or even worse just a cover up for something much bigger

Kind of not funny thinking of all us veterans with PTSD.

Let it get dark out, start flying choppers around with machine guns firing-NOT GOOD for the response many were trained to react and respond to in certain ways.    NOPE-NOT a good idea at all

I cant imagine how Id react

Horrific!!!

Crime involving drugs occurs in other countries; in Australia there's been shootings - murders in regards to drug gangs and in one incident mistaken identity that resulted in a musician losing his fingers.

Drug gangs will use whatever means to murder using other alternative weapons such as; knives and as Sharke said; a Chainsaw {yikes}  Acid is another method - I remember several years ago reading the news about a body that was dumped in a 55 gallon drum of acid.

Makes you wonder just how many people have lost their lives because of the so-called "War On Drugs" which has pushed the drug trade exclusively into the hands of criminal psychopaths.

I used to smoke a bit of weed but to be honest I never felt comfortable about where it came from and what kind of hands it had passed through. Was I sitting there with a happy smile on my face, high on a plant that people had chainsawed heads for? Did anyone lose their lives somewhere along the chain? It's a good a reason as any to stop indulging in pot and other drugs, unless you're 100% sure where they came from (and not everyone gets theirs from the friendly hippie down the road who has a grow room in his basement).

Yes it has pushed the trade to the hands of criminals psychopaths.

A reminder of the times when alcohol was prohibited, lots of people ran for the hills (Hillbillies) to make moonshine. But in this case (these people; not to be compared with murderers) eventually alcohol was back to regular (legal) business as usual.

Legalize pot but meanwhile alternative drugs will continue to be manufactured; make no mistake -- these cocktail drugs can be most certainly lethal. Recently read an article Here about a student who tried to rip his own face off. I guess he most certainly suffered from very powerful hallucinatory effects of the drugs. In other incidents 'self-mutilations' and death has been reported.
