Hi guys,

Recorded this song at home with sonar arist.

It's a little awash in reverb, and the guitar solo is a little buried, but other than that, I think the mix isn't too bad at all. Your gf can really sing quite well. She has a hell of a voice.  Overall, I think you guys did a good job on this.

Dan

Frankly, both vocals were terrible. The guitar was just a wall of distortion with no finesse. The songwriting was very amateurish. That's probably the only bit of honesty you're going to get here, so please take it. Go ahead and call me names like "Simon" etc., but I tell the truth when no one else does, and that's what you need to hear.

"Geez dude, everyone started somewhere."

Is this the Beginner's Forum?

"Let's hear your stuff..."

What could that possibly have to do with the song I just critiqued? That's 4th grade logic.

Guitar and vocal are fighting for the same EQ space in the beginning section.

Just bring the guitar down a bit in the chorus, bass guitar could use some more presence.

Very good song all around.

Alright, thanks for your opinions guys. It's the first time I recorded vocals, so I'm happy to get some feedback.
Cheers!

This is the first time you recorded vocals?  You did a bang up job.  At first, I didn't really like the male voice coming in, but then it kind of grew on me.  (Oddly, it reminded me of Igorrr)  GF has a good voice, too.

I did not care for the instrumentation much and the drums were a little low in the mix for my taste, and I agree with Bapu that the bass really needs more presence.  Really didn't hear it much - although, full disclosure, I'm listening over little PC speakers.
