That is indeed a very good point

And I get to try to sneak in some swear words. Never been successfull at that but at least I'm in a position to play with the idea

BTW - do the kids actually do all that stuff Diego and Dora tells them to? Like waving their arms, shouting "Tiger" etc and so forth??? I remember asking this about another Nickelodeon show I was working on and some said yes, some said no.

Keep telling yourself, "Someday, they will outgrow it.  Someday, they'll be too old for these shows.  Someday, they'll be too cool/mature/sophisticated for Dora and Diego.  That's when I'll pull out old copies and hideously embarass the brats in front of their friends."  Revenge is a dish best served muy frio...

Well... "they" is relative here. I imagine people will keep making babies in this country so I'll have this job doing this for as long as I like. One day, if I'm lucky enough to have kids on my own (ain't gonna happen) in my home, created in partnership with a woman....

...I'll probably sell my TV, bury the cable box and buy my children a book.

Speaking of books, I bought your book in the iBook store Bubba. Only read the first 10 pages so far but enjoying it a lot!

Hey!  I'm glad you're enjoying it.  I'd love to hear your thoughts on it sometime.

Maybe there is something in the back pack saying delicious. I have never watched this particular cartoon.

I recently bought some cartoon DVDs with close to 22 hours of cartoons on them for kids when they come over. I found myself watching a few of them. Some of those cartoons  I watched when I was a kid.

I realize things have come a really long way since then. Ren and Stimpy were the first time I recall hearing a cartoon farting in the bathtub, kind of threw me for a loop lol.

You probably could use a little fresh air and to get away from it for a little awhile. Doing that kind of thing for hours on end would get to anybody I think. I know it would me.

LOL - the reply I got in my e-mail was spot on Julien! Yeah, metal is what probably keep me going with this.

Did you get an email from me?? I didn't email you... in fact I edited out the metal part before posting, then when I posted, it showed up so I immediately edited it, I wasn't sure if it was the thing to say. I don't know why it posted it after I edited it out... and my email is not even open, nor did I PM you... Is something goofy going on or am I misunderstanding.

Confused...

Sure will Bubba - I just need to find the time to read the rest. So far so cool

Starise - that's the second time I've heard about Ren and Stimpy. Still haven't checked it out. Need to do that. Sometimes I work with cool cartoons too. Spongebob being one I like, Kick Buttowski and Imagination Movers being two others. Some movies have been great. but I'm sick and tired of versioning now so I'm looking for something that doesn't include all the other rubbish! Fresh air you say? What is that and where can I find some?

Julien - I got an e-mail from the forum with your pre-edited post, not an e-mail from you directly. You know, I get an e-mail when someone posts below one of my posts, which is generated by the forum software. Sorry about that But I thought your reply was pretty good so I decided to respond to that.

About the children doing all the stuff that Dora & Diego asks.....fortunately, only my 3 year old (now 4) did some of those and only on selctive things that she liked. On the positive side, both my 6 yr old & 4 yr old have learnt about animals, their habitats, and important facts which they've explained to me in unrelated conversations. I think it's been about a yr. since they last watched.

When I saw all the garbage that Nickelodeon and other "childrens" cartoon network/shows that are being produced, we too decided to get rid of the cable box (now Roku+), and the little ones have totally embraced the good old fashioned reading of books. On Saturday mornings, they do get to watch some cartoons, but seem to get bored with it soon after and prefer to go outside to play in the backyard.

@ Bubba: Your book is definitely on my list (especially since I'm a big fan of all your writings here) of things to get....
