The Maillard Reaction

It was just a coincidence that I was reading Herb's alarm thread yesterday...  and my wife happened to snap a few photos of our multi layered security system.

The weather was so nice we had the windows open. Go Go seemed to enjoy having a nice vantage point of the dirt drive.

I was teasing him by asking him "what's that???" to get his attention:

Just for fun.

What's your "security" system look like?

:-)

best regards,
mike

For some reason.... I pictured Go Go as a smallish ankle biter.....

The top pic looks like he could be a deterrent... or at least wake you so you can back him up with some 9mm or 12 gauge .....

I'd keep my fingers off the window sill on those old windows.... you never know when that rope in the wall will break due to age, and the window slamming down on fingers is really painful.... kinda like slamming a car door shut on them.

The bottom pic is more along the lines of... hey, you go check out that noise..... I'm busy resting.

'ats a pretty dog Mike.

For security, you do need a small ankle biter too... that is where the small breeds made their mark in the "middle ages". They used the little dogs to wake up the big dogs. Little dogs seem to not miss much and they think they are giants!

We used to have a pack of small, medium, and large.

Now we just have medium large.

:-)

My wife and her friend took him out for 9 miles of running today on the mountain bike trails... he's a full on athlete. When he came home he chased the squirrels back in to their trees and then instigated a wrestling match with me.

The best part is that he hangs with my wife and doesn't get distracted by the hunting dogs, the deer parts, or the other people she sees out there. He sticks by her side and know what his job is.

If there is anything fun to do out by the gate he doesn't hesitate to fly out the window or door and go see what's up.

:-)
