Many folks seem to categorize their environmental conditions based on how they feel.  In winter, I find myself using the following scale.

Not Bad - It's somewhat comfortable out here
A Bit Brisk - It was Not Bad, but then the wind came up and I want to go inside
Cold - Yeah, it's cold out here
Very Cold - I'd like to crawl inside the freezer to warm up
Freezing - The lucky parts are going numb
Freakishly Cold - Time is slowing down
Are You Kidding Me? - I'm shivering so hard, I just fell out of my skin
Relative Zero - It may not be Absolute Zero, but you can see it from here
Untitled - My brain has frozen and fallen off

I've spent too much time in the lower end of that scale.

5 degrees here (-15C) and a white out

2 weeks ago we had 70 degrees on one day that melted the 2 feet of snow that we had previously had and flooded my basement..... If only I hadn't used quite so much hairspray in the 80's

It's snowing here now and it's Cold (see scale above).

Clearly, some of us didn't have a justifiable reason to use hairspray in the 80's.

I've actually seen worst, like below -40.

Degrees C or degrees F?

[trick question]

The trick is that -40 degrees C  = -40 degrees F - that's the crossover point

But it's 233.15 in Kelvin!

Yep - that why you should only wear anything by Kelvin Klein when it's really cold.

If everyone in the world ran their car air conditioning with the windows open, well, that would solve the global warming problem in one fell swoop.

Wouldn't it?

I estimate that approximately $3,697,230,119 worth of heat is wasted in New York every year because people can't adjust those old radiators and they open their windows in desperation. On second thoughts triple that.
It's all so clear to me now... Global Warming ...and it's real causes!

NY really is at the center of everything.

Thanks, sharke!

I thought the real cause of global warming had something to do with bad vindaloo, no?
