So, they redesign X2 so the audio engine will go all the way up to 384kHz, and release an audio interface that only goes up to 192kHz.
What a waste.
Pfft.
None the less if it wasn't 1000 bucks on sweetie water I'd buy it
I wouldn't buy it if it were $50. I'm not on the Roland/Cake bandwagon any more.
In the mean time I'll keep using my tascam us 1641 which isn't half as nice
My Fast Track Ultra has way more in's and out's than I'll ever need so I would have no need whatsoever for this Roland unit. I've only ever needed 2 inputs for recording, guitar and mic. Regardless of whether it's driver is the cause of the problems I'm having with Cakewalk software or not, it doesn't have a problem with other solutions, so that's where I'm at now. I only bought the FTU so I could rip some old 8-track tape recordings I have. It only has 4 inputs, but the 8-track unit I have only has 4 outputs, so it worked out.
That Tascam unit you have looks nice.
