While doing a little cleaning out (dust bunny's etc..) inside my PC, I accidentally broke a tiny black wire (inside a socket) that connects my NHD-14 to the MB (CPU Fan 1). Now, the outer fan on my NH D14 isn't working.

Please see the 2nd pic in this link: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/72729-msi-x99a-gaming-pro-carbon-motherboard-review-12.html
(the tiny black wire is inside the white socket connector (on the right) and there are a few different colored tiny wires in the same socket).

The CPU temp has been fluctuating from 38 - 43 degrees (with just general usage and not any heavy loads). I'm concerned about the heat issue with only one fan working, but haven't seen any signs yet.

What are my options in getting it fixed or replaced?

I think I still have the fans from a Noctua cooler.  I didn't like the cooler and went to liquid cooling and my CPU temps dropped almost 10 degrees C.  If you want one I'll send it to you.

Let me check what I have and I'll repost.

I have two different Noctua fans.  A very slightly used (probably two weeks) NF-A15 PWM and a new NF-P12.
PM me.

That doesn't seem very hot to me.

Not at all and I'm ok with those temps. Since the cooler does come with both fans and it's designed to operate with both, I don't want to wait until something bad happens when I can simply replace it roooight? (I prefer to be safe than sorry and also don't know all the ramifications it might cause if I just let it be).

I haven't put the CPU under any stress, but when I checked the temp last evening, it was 36 degrees (go figure).

Jack, I truly appreciate the offer and will be in touch once I hear back from Noctua (checking on that NF-A15 fan clip fitting).

Per Noctua, I'm still under the 6 yr. warranty and suggested I fill out an RMA.....filled. :)

Since they apparently will take care of it under warranty, I'll put my CPU cooler fan back in storage (with probably most other computer parts I've kept but will never use - lol).

Jack, thank you so much for the kind offer and hassle of taking it out....I appreciate it!!

Noctua said they have a quieter fan with compatible fan mounting (NF-A12x25PWM) which I'm guessing is what they'll send me.

That's one of my "roundtuit" projects.  Get rid of accumulated "good junk".
