And as has been mentioned, we don't know who will eventually take on these roles, or what their responsibilities will be.

 
Maybe you missed this detail from one of Karyn's replies Steve.  They've formed a committee!  You know what that means, right?  It means now there's ZERO chance of anything happening. 
 

I've been on a lot of committees over the years. The best ones were those where the Chairman was a tyrannical dictator.

There really is nothing that interesting going on other than threads will be moved around to move relevant forums, and new forums which has already been made public in previous thread, people need to know how to do this etc. Rest is all common sense and pretty dull. Doubt it is in anybodys interests to make the forums antiseptic. Everything else has been made public. Best wait till it happens anyway...

There is still a hierarchy from what I see. Accountibilty will be from bottom upwards. I don't see anything to suggest it will end up being a talking shop within a talking shop.

As long as they don't take away my ability to say *****.

Well that's rather odd, because your "." post had not been edited in any way, and your post directly before it was inviting people to comment here?  This doesn't seem at all consistent with other users duplicate posts?

A forum software glitch I'm sure.

Honestly nothing going on. I would have had a dupe post and I would have edited one of them with a "."

Ah I see.
So Hosts can edit their posts and it not show the 'edited' footer.  I noticed this with another Host's post not twenty minutes ago.  It seems reasonable to assume that Hosts can also remove duplicate posts?  Which of course is a good thing.

How many times must we say that?
If anyone edits their own post before someone else has read it then the edit footer is not added.

The edit footer is only added if you edit your post after it has been read by someone.

The forum has always worked this way.

Not sure there is any need to shout Karyn, I was merely commenting on what I have observed.
