Yes I know these "awards" are subjective, but it's nice to see Bitwig get some recognition for its pioneering innovation in the DAW world. It might not be for everyone, but if you're into creative sound design it's a no-brainer. I'm thinking about a Bitwig/Reaper combination for my next DAW (I'd like to do Bitwig/S1 but that combo is a little co$tly for my tastes).

Sharke,  I am exploring the bitwig 8-track that came with a controller i bought.  upgrading to full bitwig is a little pricey for me too, but I may be able to bypass that route.  The 8 track version counts drums (which tend to eat up multiple tracks) as one track. I can't do complex arrangements but the intuitive sampler on this makes it actually decent boom bap creator.

That's not a bad idea actually. If the lite version works well enough for my workflow it'll save some mighty $$$'s!

Having said that, maybe the lite version is only available with hardware?

I suspect that.  I got mine with a nektar controller.  If you are in the market for a controller, it is not a bad way to go.  Probably not ideal choice for pianist, but map to DAWS very well right out the box

I do a lot of sound design stuff and I can already see many benefits with Bitwig for that kind of work. But like any DAW there pros and cons to it. To say Bitwig is the best DAW of 2017? Well maybe not the best but top 3.

From what I've been reading, bitwig went from great to buggy, but now apparently the wigs fixed the buggy bits.

It's on my radar, too.

Some nice ideas like midi and audio on top of each other. Everything except what you are working on is greyed out. Clever for lining things up as long as not too much is happening at once.

Videos are dominated by a long-winded English guy, takeing me a lot of time to learn not much.

I wonder what Nick Haddad thinks of that?
