my understanding was, the donation goes to the petitions website? They host all kinds of pertitions, last one I sighed was over a re-investigation into chris cornell death

Seriously, people need to get past the denial/hope stage and accept the death of Sonar. Even if MS would touch this, they would load it up with ads and spyware. The developers are gone. The code is probably unintelligible at this point. MS would already be developing their own daw by now if they were interested in this market.

I've signed, but with less hope.
The condition is that Gibson would like to sell the brand Cakewalk at all. Since we did not hear anything about a buying interest or any rumors, I think Gibson is not considering selling the brand. 
The market value also decreases daily as customers switch to other systems.
As some headlines shows, "Gibson kills Cakewalk". Very sad. It seems they didn't try to rescue Cakewalk in any way.
I'm sure I'll never buy any product from Gibson anymore.

...what...?... I never seen any Microsoft software with "Ads".... why should a Pro DAW ever have....
...come on... if you don't feel like joining the action, you are free to keep out... but let the others make their decisions...
