UPS lost the display case.
I insured it and after their 4-8 day investigation
I will know if I need to build another one or not. Even though
it was insured very well I hope they find it.

With the current atmosphere and the build thread "dying" I
thought maybe I'd offended members somehow...after checking
the thread I realized that I had moved the folder and broke the links.

I thought I'd post the pics of it finished for those that may have been
wondering how it turned out.

I had a wooden nameplate laser engraved but not in picture.

Here's the case that's lost...the guitar made it.

It is very light and fortunately the P-90 pickups turned out...I really
fell in love with this guitar.

So...while talking with my friend about the delivery issues I
was informed his brother, my lifelong friend receiving this, is back in
the hospital and had suffered a mild stroke but was out of ICU
and recovering with no major damage.

No doubt that this build has been a very emotional trip from day one.
I'll rest when I hear from him holding it.

I apologize to those that were following the build for my dumb mistake of
moving the files.

You know what happened don't ya?

Someone's .308 is on display in that fine case you made.

That was a very nice and thoughtful touch to have included that case with your gift to your friend.

It is a shame to think it wasn't treated with care in shipping.

Good luck with it.

best regards,
mike

Absolutely gorgeous guitar Michael, just stunning. Everything about that just oozes quality and taste.

Sorry to hear about your friend, glad it was a mild stroke.

I'm scratching my head wondering how they could 'lose' something that big...then again I just received some goods I ordered on Dec 6th..courier maintained it was delivered here and signed for (nonsense). Turns out what he'd actually done was just thrown the stuff into the porch of a flood-damaged, unoccupied house quite a way from here. My kindly postman eventually found the packages and brought them here.

PS

If you send me one Randy will walk all the way up the dirt drive and hand deliver it to my door step. If Go Go is outside he'll even put it up on the special shelf.

In UPS language "lost" usually means it got broken and was diverted to one of their large warehouses that collects that stuff and eventually sells it as surplus.

Thank you for the kudos Mike and James.

I know Mike is joking but I really should say that UPS does a
great job. I think the fees are high but I'm old....everything seems to be sky-high.

I'm curious too James. I put something in the wrong place and it's not such a deal...they
do and no telling where it will go LOL.

It's no biggy to build another...but for all envolved I hope they just find it and he gets it.

I also sent a package that contained an amp, chord and build book. The book I arrange from
photos of the build and Shutterfly makes them. I really like Shutterfly. I also have a small copy of the
book made for myself.

He's set once it all arrives :)

Maybe that will happen.
Trent is my UPS driver. Nothing but good to say about these UPS folks. Mistakes and bad days...we all have them.

Thank you Mike, Ed and John.
We know how it feels when the ones we love are down. I believe the positive energy does help them and I do
sincerely thank you all for that.

I played in no bands with these two brothers that are the same as my brothers but I spent many hours jamming
with them as well as enjoying life.
It's kind of strange that as wonderful as the guitar plays and sounds it's very possible that that is what means the least
to us three.

I do believe that may be something shared in all my builds so far and it sure feels to me to be the most wonderful
thing about them. After all...they sure are making some beautiful, excellent instruments and in ways I'm only beginning
to learn and attempt.

I just finished splitting a neck block- if no issues a block will yield two necks- they need to set/acclimate for a week or so
to see if the woods energy moves/warps the wood - the reason I mention is I used a piece of figuered Sapele that I've
is like no wood I've ever seen ( it's in the Mahogany family). It's has a very....I don't even know how to explain the grain...
I'll try to take a photo and post. I had only one board of it and have managed to a get a body and two necks (maybe) from
it....and some scrape for little little boxes and such.

Best to ya'll,
Michael

I just noticed..the photo of the case was taken before I put the latch on...there is a wooden swing latch that secures the
guitar at the neck rest. The supports and neck rest were designed so the guitar is basically just standing and resting on the
bottome supports.
