Today was the day for Tories audition at 2 pm in Chicago.

She came through the Cattle Call and made us all proud getting her ticket to the next stage of the competition

Torie is the daughter of our lead singer and she is also lead singer in the band as well.

I really have faith that once one of them turns their chair around, she will go FAR in this years show.

More to follow............

The next stage is Wed in Chicago.

She has to do 3-4 Country Songs with a band and cameras.

She sings the heck out of everything but is having a hard time deciding what 4 songs might change her life from here on out.

She is considering Cary Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Hunter Hayes

At least she's not in the cluster**** drama known as AI....

All the best to her...

let us know what night she will be on the tube so we can watch and pull for her.

What a WONDERFUL day.  We spent the last couple keeping her head calmed down and at ease.
We headed out for Chicago at 1030 this morning and ended up spending the entire day at the 2nd stage.  Tried to make it to the Hard Rock Cafe afterwords and actually made it there but traffic was so bad it was impossible to even get into the parking lot that had space available for us  [;(]  I think that was a blessing in disguise and glad we didnt stay cause that would have put us there into a time that would have been everyone getting off of work and clogging up the city.

We have all been put on social media lockdown so I have to stop until further notice.

It is an interesting process and I understand all of it as I see what is actually happening.

Today went very well.

The televised Blind Auditions are scheduled for June. Ill update this thread when I have an exact date and time

I did pass on all the well wishes to her and she was greatful and in tears from all the support she got from everyone.

Amen Herb,  LOL  Im really not into AIs way of the processes they use for auditions.  Looks to much like a HUGE cluster and allot of wasted time waiting with everyone around you.  Not a good thing compared to the others out there

The Voice is the shizzle, as my daughter would say. Tonight I watched the first episode of AI and it sucked. That's 2 hours lost and I won't waste another minute on it this year. The Voice just seems to have better talent and they don't waste your time making fun of people that never should have been at the auditions.

Good luck to Torie going forward, I can't wait for the 2013 season on The Voice.

That's what I like about The Voice.  There's no mocking the poor deluded souls who get shot down in flames on national TV.  There's no ridiculing and humiliating the 15 year old kids who just don't have enough experience.  We've all been through the auditioning process in one form or another.  I'm sure glad that mine were in somebody's basement or a garage rather than on TV.

I believe for AI that's by design.  I believe they push some contestants thru the auditions who have no business being there just for the ratings.  after all, TV watchers love to see that kind of stuff - people being humiliated and degraded and they love to watch people fail.  look at how many reality TV shows there are now.  they're really all based on "failure" as an acheivement for the audience.  yes, we  (as an audience) like to see resolution to the good, but we (as a collective) also like to see the failures and hardships first and a lot of ratings thrive on the derision of those failures.

sad.  very sad that we have come to this point of "entertainment"

as my wife likes to say - TV caters to the lowest common denominator, and when you cater to the LCD, the LCD will perpetually get lower.
