This is the first version that I have done that.
 
What a time saver. I designed it have all the synth stuff that I like
and all the screensets I like. I do leave two screensets to change around for piano roll or whatever.
 
I also used the same type of Emulator console for all channels and busses so I'll
design the next templates to have a different "console" on all channels and busses.
 
Previously I always started with a blank project and now I've been enjoying having all that
tedious stuff getting organized.
Having all the synths set-up rather than needed or not has just made it more enjoyable...I've spent
more time playing my guitar than playing with the program.

I use track templates as well... that way if I do start witha  blank project I can still make great use of templates.

I have a track template to load my acoustic drum kit with one click and all the tracks are set to record ready and set to go. I just have to turn on the pre amps and compressors.

I have another track template to load Kontakt and Jim Rs Studio Cat Jet City drum pack with all the tracks etc.

It is a great idea Spacey.

I used to use them all the time for Session Drummer 3. It's a pain to set up all those audio outputs manually, especially the way they have them labeled. I went through and created templates in 8.5.3 so all I had to do was click a button and I was ready to go. My favorite kit is the Groovy_Kit Brushes.

Starting with X1, they included templates for Session Drummer 3 with the audio outputs set up as well as dedicated buses, so I just use the stock one now.

I just couldn't see setting up screensets and console emulators
every time I started a project.
Those features combined with all the other synths I like to have ready, whether
or not I use them had become to time consuming just to get started....for me anyway.

I can see having three or four templates that'll sure make things a little smoother.
Never much of an issue until now.

I figured now with the console emulator and the different types I'd just setup for each
type along with screensets....then it grew to include all the synths..big time and hassle saver.
 
Have just one made but now it can be used to create others....still easier than starting from scratch.

I've found that whenever you start from scratch it seems there's always something you forget on your first pass thru so I always used to begin with a finished project and delete the content.  Templates are very helpful!

I've been trying to learn new tricks too while building them.
Not so good at that yet. I've never used keyboard commands so
having to get a handle on that too.

The one I'm going after first on my next template is how to add
the emulator to all tracks and then all busses.

That free video gave me ideas of doing things...and how to do them.

Is it possible to apply a template after the fact?  I've often thought it would be useful to have a template for tracking, but a different one for mixing.  It would be nice therefore to decouple the template from the audio/midi tracks within it such that you could then move from a tracking to mixing application.  Maybe it's already possible and I've just never tried it.
