If I were Mark Sampson I would be pi55ed. I know he probably has nothing to do with Bad Cat anymore but his name will always be attached to them, fairly or not.

5 watts would be perfect for recording

I like that it has a 12" V-30 in it but still... it is overpriced even at 399. I can build a 5f1 for chump change and all hand wired at that... BTW, it really wasn't easy to find reviews on this amp.

A 5 Watt tube amp, made in China, for $400 bucks ... I couldn't do it. I just saw these normally go for $700 ... uh ... no.

I don't get how they price these amps or how they get what they do for them.

I have a mint condition, 100% original (Mesa Tubes and original speakers), Mesa Dual Rectifier Tremoverb (Rare tan tweed front), with leather cover. Looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Been trying to sell it. Paid $3000 for it, the most I've been offerred is $350. Personally, I couldn't justify paying $400 for a 5 Watt'r.

i recorded my "the Time is Magic" song (you can find it in the songs forum) with a little Peavy JSX Mini Colossal amp, which is a 5 watt tube amp designed by joe satriani.

it has a power attenuator built in, a direct out that sounds close to my Palmer pdi-09, and a tremelo that really sounded good.

and an effects loop.

i think i paid $250 for it thru a dealer......

I like low watt amps but this one is all name I think. Those small Marshalls are overpriced too IMO.. but I guess what the market will bear...
