What about those 9/11 conspiracy theories......
I think it was what it appeared to be, and that was, a group of mentally disturbed people who had been brainwashed in a cult like fashion since their birth, in to being heartless and mindless murderer's.

OMG you have obviusly ben watching Faux News, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Teh Kock Brothers! 9/11 was so obviously a diversion so that Boooosh could line the sky with chem trails and make more crop circles without anyone noticing. With these in place, he was then free to steal all of Iraq's oil in order to fill the gas tank of his giant death ray on the mooooon. Educate yourself, all this information is available on various 90's style websites on the information superhighway!

1) There is no evidence to assume that western civilization has reached its "peak."
2) Yes, civilizations have come and gone. But that doesn't mean that western civilization is on it's way out. The number of civilizations we're talking about in history is way too small to be any kind of reliable data set.
3) Human nature is also quite wonderful. In 200 years after the industrial revolution, we managed to more than double our average life expectancy, simply by the application of our minds to the problem of human survival. That's why I cannot take these doom and gloom prophecies seriously. They all seem to be of the kind "look at this graph which shows some kind of decline, extrapolate it 50 years hence at the same rate of decline and OMG WE'LL ALL BE DEAD BY 2050!" A lot can happen in the way of scientific advancement in just a few years. I am very confident about mankind solving all problems of hunger, poverty etc. What the world needs is the further spread of democracy and capitalism. Nothing has improved living conditions more than these two things.

Your point 3, whilst true, also exposes what to my mind is mankinds greatest problem of all - too many people, living longer & longer, all competing for ever dwindling resources.

The market economy was always based on virtually endless supplies of food, shelter & clothing.

With the global banking infrastructure in turmoil & tatters, to my mind it could signify the beginning of the end.

When does that ship leave? I'm on it

All of the world problems are because: man has abandoned God!!

None of us can say what the problem actually is, so why even bother with these threads any more?

Why not? What is wrong with discussing these things?

If one is open-minded and respectful of other views and opinions these kind of threads should not make you upset or angry.

Do any of us have all the facts? Can we, with any certainty, separate the truths from the lies?

Of course not;  Most of us accept the stories that support our beliefs and demonize the ones that do not;  but respectful discussion is a good thing imo.
What I meant was, we are not at liberty to speak of the actual problems with politics here ('here' meaning using this forum as a form of communication, not politics of this forum), so why even bother bring up the subject?

For example ... I was reading a thread upstairs the other day. Someone mentioned that a particular forum member was a problem and they were surprised Cakewalk didn't do anything about them, and another forum member chimed in and agreed, but nobody said who that forum member was. For all these two people know that agreed with one another, they could have been talking about two completely different people. See what I mean?

Lot's of feelings get hurt when that kind of thing goes on, lots of problems occur because of it, and since we're not at liberty to speak freely (or willing to) about the original post in this thread, we shouldn't bring up the topic. No good can come of it, because trust me ... you hate me now? Wait until I actually tell you how I feel about the world and the people living in it and why I think I'm superior to them. That's really what this is all about ...

So let's just mosey on along now ... ok?

All I want to do is read some stupid posts by Bapu and laugh a little, watch Spacey go through a guitar build and wire some pup's, or listen to a song or two in the songs forum.
