Just a heads-up to all you Chrome users.
There is a new version (24) just out today.

I upgraded from version 23 and after the relaunch or restart, I get constant browser crashes.
If I use the older version I get a bad profile message and have to re-create my whole profile again.
I tried to restore just the profile, then I got registration errors when I start Chrome 23.

Rather than continue to fight that, I just restored my C drive partition from yesterday and I'm back in business.

After I restored my system, Google Update ran again and updated Chrome again.
So I did another restore, and disabled the WIFI until I could install these counter-measures:

Now its updates are disabled for good unless I let it proceed.

What a silly policy to have - silent auto-update by default, and an administration hassle to turn off.

I try my best to avoid google, "at all cost."  I unfortunately, "have to use maps," on my iphone, and sometimes if I want a, "second opinion," I search with google after first trying bing.  Other than that, my browser is Opera.

I think google is a very evil company.   It is very unnerving to me, when I surf the web, and I see sweetwater ads, or cakewalk ads, and its like google adverts know, "everything about my search habits."  What I look, and what I want to buy, and they specifically advertise it to me.

I think its scary.

I'm on Your Chrome version is 24.0.1312.52.
and see no issues here. 
Well except for the Freddy-esq posting but that's because copy and paste from another page screws up our good old forum software that really does suck by the way.
I'm also on XP on this laptop so maybe it only botched up Windows 7 and/or 8?
