Yep... tinnitus here also.... and seems to be getting worse lately.  And I have really laid off listening to music/noises in the last 3 months.  I haven't even posted in here much!  LOL

It's a wonder I can hear at all... I have always sat right in front of my guitar amp to get that "good sound".  In high school, I would sit with my left ear touching the grill cloth...  I liked the vibe.   *sheesh*

I can hear a low humming sound like a truck ticking over a couple of blocks away. A couple of years ago I read an article about how this low hum is becoming pretty commonplace, and may even have something to do with cellphone radiation and other forms of "electronic pollution."

That's the one I hear. I put it down to a couple of years when I was driving 1000 - 1500 miles a week, because it sounds exactly like road noise.

My temporary cure for tinnitus is to crank my Deluxe Reverb to about 8 and my Telecaster to the same. Treble pickup and stand right in front of the speaker. As long as I play, I can't hear the ringing in my ears.

I did similar in the early 90's....lots of underground warehouse raves consisting of dancing right next to giant speakers playing hard acid techno at ear splitting volumes for 12 hours straight....can't believe I still have relatively good hearing after that.

I think if you listen to a sound the same pitch as the tinnitus, the two will cancel each other out. CURED!

You just have to wear headphones everywhere, which muffles every other sound going on.

There's always a catch!
