I just gave THIS a try.  It was fun and I can see why these games would be beneficial.  I probably will end up unlocking all of the stuff.

Back when I lost my job, I went to a temp agency. They did all kinds of test. Dexterity, memory, that kind of thing. It was timed, but it was super easy stuff so I took my time and tried to do my best. I found out I can type 81 WPM with no mistakes. Yay. I think I could give Bapu a run for his money in post count if I put my mind to it.

I messed up a bunch of things on the one test. They gave you these little 2 x 2 cards with numbers on them and you had to sort the cards in to a big bin as if you were putting away bags of parts with part numbers on them.

I was horrified that I got so many wrong, being a parts manager at one time, and having to keep my car stock in order to be checked every 6 months. I took my time, triple checked each one, and I still got 25% of them wrong, and I started to have a panic attack. I apologized to the lady and told her I was nervous. She said I did excellent compared to most people.

Of course, I was still bummed out because they didn't tell me they didn't have any work until after I did their testing and she put me in to their data base. *grr*. Two temp agencies did that to me. Pissed me right off I tells ya.

I can remember the part numbers for copier and fax parts from 25 years ago ... right now I could rattle off 20 of them for feed tires, PCB's, gears, fusing lamps, toner cartridges, drums etc. I could write/type out the lyrics to every Beatles song they ever recorded ... give me something new to learn and I am totally screwed. That's part of the reason why I struggled so much at my last job and ended up quitting. It's like my brain has turned to goo. And the funny thing is, I've never bombarded it with drugs or alcohol. Look at all the fun I missed. Good thing is, I'm likely not to remember my regret in a few years. Heck, I don't even get depressed any more. I've just sunk in to a constant state of numbness. No desire, no want, just dead space. Don't remember much, don't feel much. It's actually pretty nice.

What was I saying?

Where am I?

Who are you people?

Do you feel...  Comfortably Numb?

I'd say fair to middling, so no, I'm not comfortable at the moment per say. It's a bit chilly in here, and I forgot to have lunch, now I'm getting hungry, but it's going to ruin my supper if I eat now, so I just need to read the forum some more so I forget about not eating again. Or go back to messing with Reaper my DAW. Why oh why don't we have Vari-speed yet in our beloved Sonar?

I ponder the same thing, every time I fail to tune my dulcimer.
