It teaches you to record and to work with what you have... (don't tell Bapu he has about 4 billion plugins). Actually the lack of XLRs would be a bummer, the 8-track has them though. I wonder if the 8-track comes with a folding matchbook to slide in under the tape to stop it from dragging... OH.. my bad, that is a different sort of 8-track
