wondering if anybody here has this software/vst version.

I know Cake has one and the new amp sim does too- I usually get
a 440 note and tune by ear. The accuracy/performance of the Strobosoft may be something I'd spring for.

I bought the Strobosoft tuner for my iPad.
Love it and so have all the guitar players (and a few of the bass players who actually tune their instrument. I know, seems odd but it does happen.) that have used it.
Every guitar player that has used mine and owns an iDevice purchased it immediately.

I'm guessing the software one is of the same quality.

Thanks Mike.

I don't have an iDevice but was reading about the app for them and it
sounds like a fantastic tool.

Well I'll start saving my pocket change.

It does one better.
It tunes all strings to AM on 4 AND 5 string bazz's.

The Maillard Reaction

I've been intrigued by it but I haven't tried it yet.

I am especially interested in the so called sweetened turnings.

I've never had a lot of confidence in using my ear to tune, which I suspect is a condition encouraged by my myopic attention to small details. I've been left with wondering if I'm just too picky and second guessing the tuning or if I'm just to unaware of how to be better at tuning and perhaps should learn to be even pickier.

So, I thought perhaps that the Peterson and its purported accuracy as well as the sweetened tuning choices might teach me more about making every thing sound it's best.

best regards,
mike

I've got the Peterson Tuner App on my iPhone.  Seems to work pretty well.  Very handy for retuning all of the drop and alternate tunings up at GC when I swing by.

I've had it since before it was a VST.  Very good tuner. Problematic VST plug structure.  Does do the business tho.  But most all of my guitar sims have decent tuners included so I only use the Peterson when intonating or setting up a guitar.

That's one of the first plugs I bought when I started with Guitar Tracks 2.0. It's an older version but I find it more sensitive than the tuners in GR or Amplitube. I don't really look at the strobe animation though. I find the +/- display useful enough. I don't use it much now that I'm pretty happy with the tuner in the software for my interface TC near.  I would say it's a top notch chromatic tuner but I think the strobe animation is just a stage prop

I don't think the version I have is VST, it only appears in the tools menu in Sonar. I think it's directx
