You sure that this is not Bapu trying to post again? ... or Strummy? ... or another Becan advertisement?
 
If not ... yeah ... spyware time! But Google Chrome, for example has some stuff showing up on the sides that are not "considered" spyware, but are a part of their very own "commercial" world of advertising. If you have this installed in Windows, it will ALSO show up in the Internet Explorer, and I'm not sure we can get rid of it that easily, because otherwise the IE folks would have screamed already ... they share the revenue with it!
