Any advice in regards to purchasing a midi splitter / thru?
 
Basicallly need to duplicate my midi out (5pin) out so I can record to two computers   ... without changing the cables!

I have a couple of Midi Solution's boxes and they work for me.

Seems you could simply echo the midi back out of the DAW/ interface  and onward to the second computer.

If the requirement is between two or more PC AND if they are on a network, I mean connected via Ethernet switch you can use this free software

This is nice and I am using this. Connectivity works over Ethernet/LAN. No need of purchasing any MIDI splitter.
