ESPN has its good side ... it also has its very bad corporate thing, that is bull'ish just like their parent company.
The control that they are pulling on sports in America, is insane and needs to stop. Because of it, sports like Soccer (Futebol!), can not improve in America, as there will not be enough place on the tv screen to show it and bring some money to it. And it is specially bad that ESPN already has a Winter Sport, that they happened to have been the most important factor in its growth into a national sport in the whole country. Today, thanks to ESPN, Hockey is a major draw, and they do not wish to share the time and space with anyone else on the TV screen.
In the days, before ESPN, College Footbal, had its conferences, and they had history. Today, because of ESPN, the whole thing is such a money roller coaster of money, that every team can simply say ... screw the rules, and do whatever they want ... why would Notre Dame give a damn about the NCAA when they can make more money than most teams in America by being independent and doing it themselves ... and now, they have helped create the Catholic Schools thing ... how impressive ... is it really about the sport or the kids education?
Makes you wonder. And how much is ESPN already involved in this?
Pretty soon, we will have the Black Leagues again ... and then the Muslim League ... and then the Christian Pudding League ... and then the Orthodox Protestant League ... and the whole thing is ... not a game anymore ... and we paid for it, and allow it to continue and happen!
Sometimes, I 'm glad I do not have a Television at all!
