Comet of the Century...

And with my luck it'll be here and I'll have a cloudbank here

The Maillard Reaction

This should make for a fun year of night sky viewing.

This will be great!!  I tried to see Haley's Comet when it passed by, but I never got a good vista.

Right now I'd be happy just to see some sky - can't remember the last time I saw any blue amongst the grey.

I read that there are actually 2 different comets approaching in 2013. According to the report I read, both should be easily visible.... and will be in the sky for quite a while....

I believe both are later in the year and should start to be visible towards the Autumn of the year.

I did manage to see and photograph several of the comets in past years.  Halley and Hyakutake (3-23-96) The pics of Halley were not as good as Hyakutake

In this photo, you can see the 2 tails... the brighter white one and the blue one above it at a different angle

This photo was b/w film.... and the comet was fading at this point.

I'm pretty sure that these are all the same comet.... the pics of Halley were not very good and the comet was not very bright either.

The pics were all shot with my Canon F series manual 35mm on a tripod with short time durations.  I also believe I was using the 45mm lens.
