The hiatus, I believe, referred to in the OP was simply the time it took the cake servers to allow a "next post".....

nothing more..... nothing less....

This is after all, BAPU we are talking about. 

He hasn't even reached 50,000 and he takes a break?  What a slacker.

The day that Bapu takes a hiatus from posting will be the day the Mayans get their calendar right.
