yes and yes.

Yeah.  Of course, you can always create another if you get the itch to try something different!

It's been many years since I've had a guitar with a Bigsby and one with P-90s.
I'm sure leaning that way.

Craig this one is the "itch". I have two other factory models so this one is
to be different. Waiting on parts to wind some mini-humbuckers and thinking
since I don't like the SG body that this one may be a good one for some Gibson
flavor.

I just closed up shop and I'm feeling good about it. There are quite a few things I'm
doing for the first time with this one and so far...so good.

The Maillard Reaction

The G&L Korina P-90 Tele copies have been looking real nice to me.

The so called Cabronita bodies that Warmoth sells seem to define an interesting form factor too.

My Wife has a Bigsby, but I don't... hence my perceived need for more guitars with Bigsbys.

I've long recognized that I really like single coils and just sorta like humbuckers... the P-90 is a great choice!

:-)

I had to settle for fabricating a pair of window sills yesterday. Wood working season started yesterday!

:-)

"since I don't like the SG body"

Have you ever considered a double cut Tele outline?

The first body I made was a double cutaway. After assembling it
with a Carvin neck I took it apart and decided I should build my
own necks. That's what got me into this.
Still have the body.

I like the G&L. I almost went with a Korina top to match my Strat.

Well I'm sure curious how the P-90s I made will sound....so I should
find out.

Thanks for the links/ideas Mike.
Talking with my wife this morning I mentioned that I was going
to put the cavity in back-go with V-T and blender. Cool seeing
the back of the G&L and seeing that I didn't like the switch but
liking the slant of the controls, which I was considering.

First I have to get the set-in neck right...made a template yesterday
and maybe I'll have the nerve to give it a go this eve. Ya know that
type of building came from violin makers? Like a dovetail. Should be
a great joint. Just a longer center line I guess.

I got wood again

Me too. Thank god for Viagra.

We'd really like to see that neck joint once you get it cut. It's somewhat of an oldstyle joint, before the neck through style and the bolt on neck. The only thing older is a guitar carved from a single peice of wood. I don't think you'll find many of those around.

I hear you Craig. I've been trying to imagine every possible thing that I could
be missing or doing wrong.

I managed to get the neck and body aligned balls on and the border to route it
in place. Tomorrow I'll double check it and secure the border so it can't move and decide
how much smaller to make the pocket.

It would be easier to build from one block of wood and I'm in deep enough with this set-in to know
that it is much harder to build a set-in than a neck-through. With a neck-through the center-line is on one piece of wood that
goes from the head to the tail. The set-in is like a pivot place for the line to bend.
Since it's my first I'm not absolutely certain but right now if it's not perfect I can't imagine
any way to save it.

Maybe tomorrow evening I'll give it a shot.
I've been told if I do it right I can pick it up by the head and the body will stay on. Nice and tight is good if the center
line is balls on. Yeah...I've got butterflies already LOL.

I have a PRS body that shows how this joint can fail. I think my design is better IF I can do it.
