"Mike Scaccia, the guitarist for Ministry and Rigor Mortis died on Saturday night. Scaccia was performing onstage at the Rail Club in Fort Worth, Texas, as part of a 50th birthday celebration for Rigor Mortis singer Bruce Corbitt, when he collapsed. He was quickly taken to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:26 A.M. Scaccia was 47."

Pretty sad indeed.

According to Blabbermouth, "Scaccia had reportedly asked for the strobe lights in the club to be turned off during the performance moments before he collapsed with a seizure".

That's a sad story all the way around.  He's only 47 (Yikes, younger than me now!) plus the other guy's going to have to live knowing his friend died putting on a tribute for him...

I wonder if you'll hear what the cause was.  Strobe-light induced seizures are indicative of epilepsy, but those aren't fatal unless they occur while doing something more dangerous than playing guitar on stage.  Stroke maybe?  Hmm...

At least he was doing something he loved.
I hope to be as lucky.

Ugh... strobe lights and fog machines drive me nuts. This is indeed sad. I loved me some Ministry in my misspent youth.

The stage's a dangerous place man, says Rain, having once again spent the last 2 afternoons at the emergency clinic w/ his lovely lady.

Did I mention I hate hospitals and practically never go for myself, unless it bleeds so bad that duct tape won't help close the wound?
