The world will end when DuPont comes out with a new one. They will find a way of getting rid of this one and charging us a premium to live on the new one.

The sad part are the stories of people thinking about killing their children so they will not have to suffer.

Ray Bradbury story:  They all agreed the world would end on Friday, so they ALL killed their children Thursday night. And the world ended as expected.

Profound ignorance and stupidity prevail.

What story was that?
I've read most of Bradbury and I don't remember it.

The movie version of "The Last Night of the World,"  in the film "The Illustrated Man."

Been a while, but I remember the parents nuking the kids, and then wakening in the morning to realize what they have done.

What's this about a red "E"?

Could I have a violet "W"?

And, just why is a "W" pronounced like a "double U" when it really is a "double V"?

For lotsa reasons I would lay odds that the world will not end at a time when someone has said that it will end.

Mayan civilisation is very interesting, and the Wikipedia page on it is an excellent primer. ...

Reminds me, I haven't "updated" the Mayan entries lately.

Wikipedia is sooo much fun to mess with!

I am looking at it from a reasonable, rational, scientific, celebration, viewpoint in Lansing Michigan.

I'm looking at it from inside the ruins of Aggie Weston's Knee-Salve and Lemon Squash factory - oiling up the sixty valve mink pounder and flesh dispersal silos as we speak.

You ent seen me, roight?
