Wow, wish I could have friends like yours.

If you only knew how long this took!

I originally started this band back in 2011. In the time since then, I went through 6 guitarists, 5 bassists, and 2 keyboardists. I've always said that the hardest thing about being a musician is that you have to work with musicians.

I'm very happy with this lineup of guys though, and I'm hoping to use the CD to try and book gigs.

Also, recording with Sonar was great, and the help that people in this forum provided me was invaluable. I have a background as a recording engineer, but that was a long time ago when the state of the art was 2" tape and it was on a MCI/Sony desk. Working with software is so powerful and risk free that it's easy to become paralyzed by too many options, but man oh man, what a luxury!

Yes, I see

the path you have chosen is wrought with rewards, disappointments,  magic, dust, and actuality.

I can only wish for you to reach those higher highs.

If persistence is a key, it sounds as if you have an arsenal.

What you have done is commendable, now take it a step further, and set course

the wind will take you where you're going.

Your tape skills translated well to the digital domain.

Well done.

Loved the music and the playing. I gave you a thumbs-up. You deserve it.

One thing about the production though is that there was very little midrange warmth on any of the songs. It was as though you ran the whole album through a 30-band EQ with a wide V-cut down the middle. I think hard limiting may have drained things a little. Don't take this as saying it sounded terrible. It sounded quite good in most respects. Did you send the tracks out for mastering? You may be better off doing it yourself.

No, I did it myself with Izotope's Ozone.  If you knew how it was all recorded and mixed, you'd be amazed.  The hope was just to not produce something embarrassing.
