Yeah, Breverb is all "whatevs" for me too but it's convenient to have right on the PC. I'm not much of a reverb dude anyway. I gotta learn how to get some subtle presets happening with it so if things are just sounding way too dry I can toss them on and forget about it.

Frankly I don't really like any of the reverbs in Sonar but I probably just don't know how to use them yet. Seems all the presets are just way too heavy handed. I just want it to make my stuff not sound like it was recorded in a box.

Mike. I'd have to disagree with Jonbuoy on this as to me, there are lots of improvements that X1 doesn't have. The list is actually quite long, but I'll give you a few of my favorites which have been game changers for me.

You'll have missed the bit where I said that you'll get the functional improvements X2 has over X1 then?

I was basically saying there is no need to have X1 installed as there is nothing missing in the installed content from the last few versions indeed there are a few extras on that score too.

Pay attention man!!!...

You are correct...I totally mis-read your post. Sincerest apologies brother....fixed my post above. :)

No worries mate...

I have more 'senior' moments per hour than most.

LOL...as I type I smell burning in the kitchen where I've left something in the oven far too long already....

That's the problem with presets Beeps...they are supposed to over-accentuate the plug to show you what it can do. You have to edit and back them down 98% of the time. Your best bet when working with them, is to create a bus. Then drop a Sonitus verb in the FX bin. Then, make sure all the dry effect is out of the verb. Make it 100% wet. Add sends to your instrument track(s) and experiment with the send level. You should start hearing some verb as soon as you start moving the send slider. If the tails are too long, open the plug and lower some of the decay time. Mess with pre-delay and the high pass/low pass in the verb to further tweak it to your needs. Sonitus is a really good all-purpose verb that can work on just about anything with a little tweaking. Hope this helps a bit.

Thats exactly the way I like to use it Danny.

I find it works and sounds much better on the send to a bus than in an FX bin in X1.
Pull the Dry signal all the way down to where its just the Wet Signal, I crank it and get the tails set to where I like for the song, then back the slider all the way down and ease it up to satisfy what I like which most of the time will be barely noticeable but the overall makes a world of difference.

Thats kinda what caught my attention with the BReverb is it appears to be a good reverb and Channel tools combined.

Yeah that's really the best way for verbs to be used in my opinion. However, I do put them on tracks once in a blue moon too. Breverb is pretty cool...but like I say, from what I heard while messing around with it, it just didn't blow my doors off, Mike. It's cool to have and I'm sure I'll use it for something at some point. It just didn't do anything more than what I already use. It has its place though. :)

It definitely does help, Danny... as always. I kind of know about the whole effects bus method but to tell you the truth I've been too lazy/overwhelmed to actually do things that way. The few tracks I've put together so far were, as you know, more to get a feel for the program and all my new gizmos and I guess I was also trying to get some stuff down to show ya'll what I can do (yeah, being a bit of an insecure attention whore, lol). I think I've got my head wrapped around the basics now and want to start digging into the finer points but I know I've got a looong way to go to before I'll be able to play with the big boys. I'm tenacious though so this time next year I'm hoping my skills will be up to snuff.

Still sorting out the mayhem here in the new space but I've got my DAW area set up (albeit in the most basic capacity for the moment) so I can get back to learning. I've been very frustrated because it seems to be taking forever but really it's only been two weeks and I've had a LOT of unexpected problems in here that needed to be dealt with so I think I've done alright for a crazy gimp. Just gotta put a few more of my weirdo soundproofing measures into effect (more so people don't hear ME than anything else because I'm shy and don't want people up in my craw either complaining or trying to befriend me because they want to hang out or some shiz).

IDK... I just hope this all works out and I can get my back catalog recorded and hopefully find the inspiration to REALLY get some music out that'll bend peoples minds.

Cheers, bro... sorry for the ramble. Just taking a break from hauling crap around. ;-)

You will find it easier once you get used to it Beepster.

I know in X1 its just matter of Right Clicking the Send and it will chunk in the Bus for you, go to the Bus and insert your FX and then every track requiring the same effect, just right click in the tracks send and the bus is there to assign it to.

Like Danny stated there are times when like say you might want to add a different tail to a seperate track for the same effect which in that case, put it on the track FX bin or whatever X2 has going.  This way does cut alot of time off and you dont have to worry about adjusting a number of tracks FX the same when they are all on one bus.

OK get back to unpackin' Beep

Bending minds....sometimes when you try to do that, you make things harder on yourself Beep. Just do what you do because you enjoy it man. Look at me, I'm not doing anything groundbreaking or new and exciting. My stuff has a familiar sound to it where you can hear my influences and I don't hide them. I'm perfectly happy with that really. I write and create music for me and hope when I share it, that others like it too. If they don't, that's ok too really. As long as *I* like it, that's all that matters. The other side of the coin, is, it's nice to at least get the production end of it down. This way when someone says "not really what I'm into" hopefully it's followed by "but your production was killer on this!" LOL! :) Just have fun and do what you do brother. You never lose that way. :)
