Do you make your vehicles loud for the sake of being loud? If so then I'm sorry, man... I just don't get that.
As far as local law enforcement and regulations I'm sure they couldn't give a crap what I thought but I'm sure if my amps were cranked up just enough that someone MAYBE could hear it I'd have people with their knickers all up in a twist. So I go to great lengths to avoid that.
Like I said, this was obviously not a good topic to bring up. I was just annoyed because when I posted this it was fartorama outside and it was getting on my nerves.
Cheers.
I mentioned that my vehicles are legal.
I own a Harley Softail, GMC truck, Cadillac and Pontiac. I purchased them new from dealerships except the GMC which
I purchased from a friend that purchased it from a local dealership. It had 50,000 miles and never any mechanical work performed.
The only modification made was to the Harley. I had them change the stock muffler to a "slice" one. Looks better to me and is
somewhat louder than the origianl BUT is legal to Federal and State law. I asked when I purchased them and they couldn't legally
sell them if they weren't.
I believe that is all consideration of others that is required Since there may be thousands that may hear my vehicle I sure
can't and won't consider the issue on an individual basis.
Sounds to me like you just had a bad day....sorry about that.
If noise ordinances are not being controlled by your local law enforcement I encourage you to pursue getting action taken.
The exact same position I had when Starise had his noise problems.
On the other hand....
There are two hot-rod shops a few blocks from my house. There are times when they fire up their racing machines for whatever
reason. They are not street legal...they are serious race machines.
I've never complained and never will.
My consideration of others is to allow them room to have their moments to enjoy things they enjoy. I guess the whole town
feels the same way. Now that's being considerate of others IMO.
Good luck.
