I think you believe you got me riled up Star....I told you then you hadn't.
I know because it's all very clear to me. If people are buying and using legal products
then people that don't like it have to live with it.

If the products aren't legal then you guys should be finding out why your local law enforcement isn't dealing with the problem.
Simple.
Of course there is always....just something to **** about. ;)

Yeah... this was probably the wrong place to post this. Ya'll seem to enjoy your noisy vehicles.

Just saying it gets rather cacophonous outside my window starting around mid to late afternoon until about 9pm because of some of the local dingleberries. It's gonna make recording anything mic'd a bit of a pain. Kind of tweaks my nerves a bit too.

FWIW - I certainly don't.

A personal pet peeve of mine.

A little bit of consideration for others would go a long way in this world. But it seems that we prefer to decide when and where the rules apply to us, and hope and pray for the world to be a better place.

What do you mean "rules" and when they apply?

The exhaust on all vehicles is subject to laws. An operator of any and every licensed vehicle either has a legal exhaust system or they don't. those are the only "rules" that apply. They apply 24-7.

If one doesn't like the local applicable laws then they can petition their state representative.

All my vehicles are legally operational.

Sounds to me like some are just moaning to be moaning OR their local laws aren't being enforced.

One may try to change or distort the issue but it is loud and clear to me.
I'll add that not one has mentioned whether or not they are referring to a legal exhause system or not
and more than likely don't even know their local law about something that seems so very important to them.
Well important enough to insult others about it.

Do you make your vehicles loud for the sake of being loud? If so then I'm sorry, man... I just don't get that.

As far as local law enforcement and regulations I'm sure they couldn't give a crap what I thought but I'm sure if my amps were cranked up just enough that someone MAYBE could hear it I'd have people with their knickers all up in a twist. So I go to great lengths to avoid that.

Like I said, this was obviously not a good topic to bring up. I was just annoyed because when I posted this it was fartorama outside and it was getting on my nerves.

Cheers.

I mentioned that my vehicles are legal.
I own a Harley Softail, GMC truck, Cadillac and Pontiac. I purchased them new from dealerships except the GMC which
I purchased from a friend that purchased it from a local dealership. It had 50,000 miles and never any mechanical work performed.
The only modification made was to the Harley. I had them change the stock muffler to a "slice" one. Looks better to me and is
somewhat louder than the origianl BUT is legal to Federal and State law. I asked when I purchased them and they couldn't legally
sell them if they weren't.

I believe that is all consideration of others that is required  Since there may be thousands that may hear my vehicle I sure
can't and won't consider the issue on an individual basis.

Sounds to me like you just had a bad day....sorry about that.
If noise ordinances are not being controlled by your local law enforcement I encourage you to pursue getting action taken.
The exact same position I had when Starise had his noise problems.

On the other hand....
There are two hot-rod shops a few blocks from my house. There are times when they fire up their racing machines for whatever
reason. They are not street legal...they are serious race machines.
I've never complained and never will.
My consideration of others is to allow them room to have their moments to enjoy things they enjoy. I guess the whole town
feels the same way. Now that's being considerate of others IMO.

Good luck.

Fun is cool. I'm all for fun but I'd imagine you don't take the Harley out to pick up groceries and peel out in residential areas where there are old people and kids living.

That's where it gets to me. Some of these dudes are seriously out just to annoy people. A lot of these vehicles don't even have any real power behind them but they mod them out to sound like they do. I'm not a car guy but from my limited understanding that's actually bad for the vehicle anyway.

Just doesn't make sense to me, yanno?

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE making noise. I've been in some of the loudest bands around but I also understand not everyone is into that racket and I try to respect that. If people came into a club or rehearsal space where I'm supposed to be doing my thing and started whining about the noise I'd tell them to cram it with walnuts. I would however understand them getting upset if I was blasting them out of their living room for no reason.

And yeah... I've just been a little on edge. New environment. Lots of weird unexpected crap to deal with. The noise was just making me worry about what's gonna happen once I start trying to get some tracks down. I intend to buy as much thick window dressing as possible to hopefully cut some of that action down but it's gonna cost me.

Anyway, hope you understand I'm not railing on you personally. I'm sure you're more respectful and practical about your fuel injected pursuits.

Cheers.
