LMAO Beag,

Julien, YES that would be one heck of a gift.  I went on eBAY and was getting all I could for Pink Floyd, Creed and Nickleback.  Your way would be much easier LOL.

I think I did pretty good with the eBAY thing though.  Pulse is ALWAYS in my DVD player so when I need a stress break (LIKE NOW)  I can sit back relax and enjoy some good music

Yep, I think that would be a nice gift.

Just recently I picked up the John Wayne movie collection - America's Legendary Hero for just $14:95 here (Walmart)

At Amazon it's selling for $29.45 here

My Father (inlaw) wishlist! He plans to take several DVD's with him on flight to Hawaii (vacation) in January! It's going to be a long 15 hour flight!

Every year Dad, Mom and others in the family exchanges 'wishlists' suggestions, gifts ideas.  It's really worth shopping around to get the best prices.

As an early Christmas gift from the local hospital I got a medical bill for $2,989,64. {DOH} but to lift my spirits on the same day I got another request from a fan for an autographed CD.

LMAO @ Reece

John Wayne...

That reminds me of something I heard in an interview with an actor (I wish I could remember who). It was one of those things that you can't help but remember. The interviewer was asking the actor about working with John Wayne. He said John was dressed all in his cowboy stuff, IIRC, it was from one of his last movies. He said John was sitting the saddle and reading something. He asked him what he was reading, expecting some western or war thing... No, he was reading a Noel Coward play.
That is when he remembered that Wayne was not a cowboy, but an actor. He just played it so well that people think John was a cowboy or a soldier. I guess that is a tribute to a job well done.

@ jbow, Yes that's quite a tribute for a great actor.

This DVD collection includes a biography on John Wayne. I have no idea how well done it's done, I guess it will be interesting to watch.

Sorry I have no idea who that interviewer was.

Hi,

I don't know ... I have all the albums, and like I mentioned before the "remasters" all sound like the old English imports to me ... with the separation of left and right a lot more clear for your brain to enjoy ... but there were moments that were much better that the remaster did not have the vision to put together.

In The Wall, when the girl comes into the room and say ... wow, look at all these guitars ... in the old days of the quadraphonic shows, it would start on one speaker and go around almost 180 degrees to the other speakers behind you, or the like ... and this gave a perfect illusion that someone walked by you, and said hello and ignored you on the way to look at the guitars.

So, I go listen to my old roomies "remastered" version, and it was cold as ice and like she didn't go anywhere. And in the latest version by Roger that he is running around with the girl starts on the left and ends on the right ... end of the sound, and no quadraphonic experience ... that was way more "real" than the rest. I gave Roger a hard time on that one, for fun!

I have so much PF and articles and what not from all the years since 1972, that I'm not sure a box set would even come close to the whole experience.
