Yeah.  Heck, Public Enemy was just voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I (with over 100,000 songs in my library) had never even heard of them!

You prog boys need to get out more often.

BTW,  Chuck D's main man was, and may still be, a SONAR user and used to do some of the best start to finish presentations.

18,000 each week...pfft.

Bapu and his pseudonyms regularly contribute more than that to the songs forum in a 24 hour period.

Word!

McQ is down wit' da 'hood.

I'm sure he regularly does the twist to all their catchy toe-tappers.

I like music.

Who among us hasn't had that thought before?

It's a curse.

So, it would take about 6 radio stations sharing the load, running 24/7, playing each song once... just to air them all once. That is assuming 3 minute songs. I guess that would still translate into longer songs because of CD capacity... but if they were released on DVD... all bets are off.

So it is impossible to listen to all the new music coming out, factor in all the music that has already been recorded and my brain can't even think about it. I'm sure it also makes it impossible to write or record anything that hasn't been done before, probably done in the last month at that. It is really crazy. I wonder what the number was in 1962... 50 years ago.

Now that you put it that way, Yoko is starting to make more sense.

Precisely the reason I don't bother to record a CD.

sounds like a lot and anything I would release would be buried.... any thoughts ??
It's probably less than that ... but anyone stating that, is likely to be a record company pundit, scaring people into not doing it, as it raises their averages and chances to make money!

Good ... !!!!

When it reaches 30k, let me know and I will put mine out ... before the CHB does!

Learned one thing in the restaurant business that works good here. I was in the empty corner of the mall in Vancouver (JM Plaza) and there were 3 empty stores, on one side and a dentist and a loan office on the other side. Needless to say, folks didn't exactly park here!

So, I'm talking to one of the big name wigs (a bit of a jerk, but he was good, so no worries!) and he said ... I'll take that spot over there and will have you beat within 30 days ... I said ... c'mon ... let's do it!

He never did, of course, but he did say ... it has to be about you and your work, not what someone else did ... which is what I was always about, and what made it for me in the restaurant business in management. The place was fun, congenial and the food was good and handled properly. And I never, ever, had a rating under 90% with the Health Inspactors in Oregon or Washington, which tells you the attention to detail, and keeping the place clean was important.

So if you know who you are ... I'm pretty sure you will be worried about some competition, when the only audience that you want to satisfy and make it work better, is yourself! After that, if the fans come and buy, it's all a bonus, and you can say ... thanks ... thanks ... as many times as you want!
