Not sure the best place to post this...

This morning one of my UM-3G's failed, and I got a code 43 error message.  I tried reinstalling the drivers, but to no avail, and the code error remains.

Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Or, is the UM-3G likely dead?

Hi Jim,
Not sure if this might be the correct solution, but you might want to take look and see if it is helpful.

Thanks, I had tried most of those suggestions, but still have a few more things to attempt.  I will report back with whatever I end up finding.

If you have completely removed the device and rebooted, then reinstalled the device and the drivers are still reporting an Error 43, try a different USB bus. If you still get Code 43, I think it is dead.

Dan

Just realized I never reported back.  I finally had the opportunity to check a different USB bus, and also tested the same bus with a different device, etc., etc., etc.  The net result was that the UM-3G was indeed dead.

My UM-2G did the same thing a few months ago. It was dead. Dug the MidiSport out of the box and was up and running again.

BTW I opened it up just to make sure it wasn't a broken wire or something simple. Didn't see anything apparent.

I know this issue. It occurred in my system too. I restored the computer to an earlier restore point and it helped. However, if your problem still persists, restore default settings, check system files for corruption, uninstall any recently installed programs. More diagnostic information is here:  .Visit the guide.
