Counting Coup
Hi from sunny Auckland. Like the new forum!
With the help of the good folks here, I've just had a new machine built as per below. As this machine is for audio only, and in an attempt to save some money, I'm currently using the on-board video card. However, I'm wondering what the real-world advantage would be were I to  add a video card. So no gaming, internet, graphic work. Just X3, SF, CDA, RX3.
Thanks & Merry Xmas
David

No advantage to adding a video card unless your machine is so lame on memory that you cannot afford to share a bit with the video chip. Audio apps are not video intensive, and most onboard video does not use a lot of system memory. Your motherboard manual will probably tell you how much memory will be shared and if you have an option to limit it. In order to display the interface of running programs you do not even need a full color video setting.

Hi Slarta. Thanks for that. I'll put that money into a fuel pump for the old Corolla.
Cheers
