It's the same thing with phone users when it comes to Android versus iPhone etc....the forums are always full of people who think the grass is greener on the other side. It makes researching your new purchase an absolute nightmare. Your decision boils down to "which product seems to have the fewer complaints, based upon my totally unscientific method of browsing forums and reading reviews on Amazon."

I made the mistake of making a slight to Iphones in general HERE, and was road out of town on a rail...

Too right as well. iPhone critics should be jailed.

When I told my wooden mate that we were having a 'who can start a fire the quickest' competition, he started rubbing his hands together in glee.

Mooch sez iEverything is best.
College buddy of mine was talking about his 27 year old son who's a fanatic for anything Apple: "If they sold iSh*t, he'd probably buy some".

We are still dealing with the PC envelope of various builds and configs. It all means naught without the specs to each problem with each PC build.

To be fair and honest in regards to this topic I should not paint myself as being completely satisfied with absolutely everything ((DAW)) and yes in the past I have participate in heated discussions that I wish I had refrained (not participated). Realistically; no DAW is perfect but there are work-around's.

This year I have tried to distance myself from all the upstairs hemorrhagic idiosyncrasies because my wife and I have far more (way, way more) important issues to deal with such as health concerns along with serious financial matters that makes all the upstairs drama seem so dang petty.

For decades I have always found work-around's to get the job done on a mere budget and even with today's technology a mere budget of about $2,500; PC + software + some second hand gear (keyboard + Guitar + Interface + Mic) is all that I need to achieve great results with hardly any issues using minimal tools and with care to detail; a well spec PC and OS setup + good drivers + all configured correctly + SONAR producer + Interface + all correctly setup.

If you could go back to 1975 and figure out the costs to build you own studio; 24 or 16 Track Reel, 24 chn Mixer, Outboard, Guitars, Amp, Drum Kit, Keyboards, speakers and good microphones, the costs for all that gear would easily amount to about $20,000 though some of that gear be second-hand. + that gear would require attention to detail maintenance $$$?  *  Fast forward to 2012 and I have PC + Software + some second-hand gear all for about $2,500 and almost all regular maintenance is virtually cost free.

In regards to the project studio; we are living in great times and it will get even better in future as computers + Interfaces + software advances further along with reductions in costs.

Doesn't anyone realize that we are all on the same forum and with some domain trickery/programming, all references to a product are infact wildcards that are filled in, on the fly, according to the domain you are accessing.
