Exactly,

Chic - le Freak that Zonno linked to is a fantastic example too.

Too many schlocky rockers, and chit kickers here...

They are quaint though.

Level 42...lol, I've mistakenly thought for all these years they were a jazz/funk fusion band, now I learn they were indeed a Disco band.

Just my opinion Pedro, but Adagio in G is a beautiful, delicate tune, which would be ruined on an electric guitar. Unless Mark Knopfler did it.

You start accoustic, and with each "turn" you add an effect, so by the end it is fuzzed out and far out ...

Well why not give it a go yourself if you have the vision? I imagine there are plenty of MIDI files of the piece available.

Bapu wants to bring it back.

What do you think of that?
I could hear a version of Moocho Man by TFM's.

Ooh ... how 'bout this, "They were swinging, and flinging, their poo-hoo at the Moochster. And just when it hit him somebody turned around and shouted ... stop flinging poo at Mooch you white boy ..."

I wish I was more comfortable with DAW's and knew better what I was doing ... or not doing.

But getting help? ... yeah ... most of those folks only know DJ'ing ... not using a DAW! ... much less teaching a child! And I've tried to ask -- and would pay for it -- even to some folks here ... and I have not even got the courtesy of an email reply saying that ... sorry ... a bit busy and scattered right now, or too strung out on drugs, or found a new girl ... whatever!

I've pretty much given up the music thing ... for now ... it's just too frustrating ... I'm probably going to put the midi board back in the box, the Casio back in the box and give it to the first kid that shows music love ... and that's that.

The bass? Probably going to bust it on the street by pulling a Pete Townsend!

Pedro,

Lesson 1. The DAW is basically just a digital multi-track tape recorder.
Lesson 2. The DAW software needs a decent audio and MIDI interface.
Lesson 3. MIDI is a digital "piano roll" that drives a particular "module" (i.e. VSTi) to achieve a particular sound.
Lesson 4. If you have specific problems, post them specifically in the appropriate specific product forum.
Lesson 5. Use the terms of the DAW, not terms you think should apply to the technique you wish to accomplish.
Lesson 6. Watch a chitload of YouTube videos for your specific DAW.
Lesson 6a. I'd say RTFM but you've already done that.

Aside from that, I'm a bit too busy and scattered right now to give you any more lessons.
