I am running an i7 machine with 6gigs of ram. I built this system a coupe years ago and it has ran really well with the exception of dropouts from time to time when I would adjust eq settings in the prochannel eq.
I just upgraded to X3 from X2 and the same dropouts are happening here and there. Some projects that I work on have tons of tracks and never have any issues until it adjust the eq. Do any of you have an idea what would be causing this? I was thinking of upgrading my ram but didn't know if it would make any difference.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Joe

Maybe an adjustment to the AUD.ini variable DropoutMsec (say 500 or 750) would help. Info about the variable here: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X3&Lang=EN&Req=INI_Files.6.html#1134652
Although more RAM would not hurt.

Hi, I just had that problem with a new build though. This is what I found to fix it, setting the cpu performance setting to power save (instead of standard or performance) I don't know if this would help you or not.

(From my thread) "I was trying different settings with ASRock A tuning (asrock motherboard utility) and found the standard setting gave me drop outs, performance setting instantly killed the audio engine and power saving setting everything is working. I ran the audio tutorial file through 2 times without a dropout. Soundcloud, youtube and Itunes are playing without dropouts."

I had what sounds like this problem under the first release of X1 or X2, can't remember which.

Switching UA-101 driver mode from ASIO to anything else (WASAPI or WDM) made the problem go away. It was fixed (for me) in one of the patches.
