String them along if you want them to stay strung.

I just had a "bill" for $65 from "DNS Services"  based in Vancouver, WA. It says it's for "Managed DNS Backup Business Services." It looks exactly like an invoice, and there's a tear off strip with which you can make your payment. It has the name of my website on it, as

I used to get those fake bills to, but it was from "Domain registry of America" or something similar, every year.

Made to look very official, just had to fill it out to pay them.. not.

It's much more fun over the phone, I'm from DK so whenever someone calls me speaking English (Useually Engrish) there's no doubt it's another scammer. It's easy just to fake interest and acting stupid so they have to explain everything in detail, then fail at it again and again, if they speak broken english fake misunderstanding them so they have to explain what they mean constantly. Should be able to get at least 15 min. out of them.

There's another video by the same guys if you look around on the "related" links or maybe look in the uploader's user account.

I've never had those problems, but I've always gone with Network Solutions. I've had too many problems with hosting provider based registrations, and I don't trust the low-ballers like GoDaddy and the like. Also, it's not just the registration - if I'm paying for a domain registration, I demand to be able to create sub-domains, MX servers, and the whole lot.  Maybe the low-ballers have stepped up there game since then - but the scammers seem to avoid Network Solutions clients.
