I've had this as part of Komplete for ages and have never really tried to do anything with it apart from load it up and listen to a few chords. Well tonight I tried to use it in a song (after actually reading some of the manual!)

It's good! I won't pretend it's not frustrating trying to "program" the grooves and chords into the PRV, and it does not always work as advertised (lots of tweaking required), but at the end of it I've gotten some very well recorded and consistently played funk rhythm into my track and it sounds great (it's going through Guitar Rig too although I might well change that).

I wouldn't use it for anything guitar-prominent, I'd probably pick up my own guitar and play something more interesting for that. But for adding a bit of ssppiiccee to a funky rhythm track I would definitely recommend it.

Well I've just swapped Guitar Rig for a nice clean sound in TH2....much better!

sharke-  I think it's just gonna take us some time to learn to use this thing correctly.  I own it too, but have only used it once in "Chameleon's Reflection" you can hear it quite well:

I did no tweaking other then selecting the right chords from the chord selection list.  I think it sounds quite good actually, and even with all my guitars, I just can't seem to get that funky tone that FG gets.  LOL

I recommend it too.

Sounds great, it sits so well in the mix.  Did you use any of the onboard effects, or did you process it all separately? Goes really well with the killer lead tone!

I figured out how to use the fills and suchlike in the PRV....it's a pain getting it to work properly and you have to really think of it as two lines, one for the chords and another one for the "grooves." I made extensive use of the muted "chukka chukka" fills, letting the actual chords poke through at opportune moments. The hardest part is finding a combination of a groove preset that works, along with a chord set that can be transposed into the chords you need. At this point I could not be bothered to work out how to create my own chord sets and grooves, although the groove creator looks very doable and I'm probably going to move onto that at some point.

Yep I used the phaser if I remember correctly.  Figuring out the grooves was a little tricky.  I haven't tried any editing in the PRV yet.  I saw that on YouTube.

Thanks for the compliments too.
