If they were reputed to work well I could find value in the pricing.
It's the insinuations that they don't that makes the price seem high.
That's why I've been trying to ask a guy that I know and trust about my gut instinct that there is a real life need for a more powerful motor. :-)

I bet I know why that guy has been hesitant in answering...(lol)
He probably knows that there is tension envolved and some may be satisfied and
some wouldn't.
"Tension" is a major factor in winding and an issue to deal with whether or not
one is hand winding or with a traverse and tensioner.
I did not want torque, or lack of specifically, being an issue for me. (plus it had the desired rpm capability I wanted)
There is also the issue that bobbins are not round so the issue of breaking wire
is or can be a major problem for winders.
I found the motor I chose supplies smooth speed under my tension. I don't know what
it would supply you.
