Interesting how many musicians and actors from Scotland manage to shed that stigmata and find success despite it. I'd never have guessed Ian Anderson was a Scot. There must be some special school up there, like the ones here in the U.S. that teach up-and-coming broadcasters how not to talk like a southerner.
I believe it was David Frost who either coined the phrase "Mid-Atlantic" or at least was the first to have it applied to him. Not coincidentally, he was also the first British talking head to enjoy success in America. Paved the way for Benny Hill.
