Me too.  Quite a list of mild to possibly major annoyances today.  *Sigh*

Aside from all the sodium Ramen's not a bad diet. Just load it up with cheap veggies, fresh garlic, hot sauce and whenever possible some chopped up meat (cheap cuts). If you do it right it's like Pho you'd get charged 8 bucks for in a restaurant.

That's one HUGE "aside", bro - you're being sodium-ized!

But I do understand the financial consideration. I had to survive on one Mars candy bar a day for a while. No fun. Even if their slogan was " A Mars a day helps you work, rest and play".

My younger brother's band had an address on their web site for fans to send them Ramen's - I think they were on a similar diet as yours.

By the way, are Ramen's really cheaper than a huge bag regular chinese noodles or other pastas? Seems that w/ the stuff you put in them, you could actually cook a decent healthy meal.

I do all my shopping at Whole Foods these days. And everyone keeps telling me I'm wasting my money because that place is overpriced. The thing is though, for everyday staples like bread, milk, cheese, cereal, canned foods etc, it's actually on par with (and sometimes cheaper than) the skanky Key Foods around the corner from me, and all of the stuff's much nicer and a hell of a lot healthier. I don't buy anything "fancy" (which is where Whole Foods starts getting expensive).

I buy Thai Kitchen noodles and they're not that much pricier than Ramen noodles, except they have no crap in them and have a reasonable sodium content. My God though I love noodles.

Same here. Whole Food and Trader Joe's. In NY, we had the Amish Market on the way home. Actually, we first went there when Irene hit NY last year - it had been spared by the masses. The nearest Food Emporium was in a a post-zombie apocalypse state.

The one place I promised myself never to go back to is Sprout Farmer Market here in Vegas. Almost everything is twice the price. Where else do you get to see a gallon of milk for $7 and a pint of cottage cheese for $5?

The good news is that I've finally found decent Hoisin sauce here in - I wasn't that lucky in NY. Now, I only need to find chinese noodles like the ones we had in Quebec...
