Alternatively: set up a Google Drive account, copy the mp4s there. Then make these files "Available Offline" on the Google Drive iPad app.

Excellent idea.
I only bought the 16GB iPad so this will be nice since it's not storing the videos onto the pad rather streaming from Google.
Thanks for the idea.
Of course this won't work if you don't have a wifi connection correct?
I will probably either be home or at the girlfriends house which both have wifi but are they still accessible if say I was taking a drive to Florida and wanted to watch the vid's on the way?

Use a video format converter to re- format your material to an Apple supported format.

If you do have to convert the video, try 'Handbrake' on the PC.

I have converted many teaching and entertainment videos for viewing on my iPad with success. It retains chapters and such. It is a slow process converting but very handy to have once done and transferred to the iPad.

Well, I started from scratch and did more or less as both zungle and the nice folks at groove3 suggested and I actually got 5 out of the ten videos to go on correctly...but the other five are all still randomly strewn out in two videos labled Kontakt Explained.  No biggie I guess as I can scroll through the TOC and watch what I want.  Plus it's too late now to fool with it anymore.  But I'll say again...now that I've owned both an iPhone and iPad for a couple of years...I've learned to despise Apple almost as much as AT&T.

Pal.. I have been flirting with getting an iPad for a couple of years and have not yet decided. If they are as bad as AT&T ...bugger them. I used to have no problems with ATT, now I drop calls and have poor reception at my home. I am seriously considering a change to Verizon. As for a tablet, I figure I am goin to just have to take a leap of faith. The Android tablets look good, the Windows tablets look good and the iPad looks good. I don't know but I guess we will go with iPads and iPhones... these Blackberry Pearls are falling apart. I literally have Scotch tape holding the trackball surround in place. I have to tape it and cut around the ball with a utility knife. I have, use, and love my Kindle. I guess it is time to go with the flow and spend some money with Apple and IK... but I am really nervous about getting something expensive that wont do what I want it to do without spending more and more money. The iPad seems to be surrounded with accessories that I would want and/or need. I just hope Verizon has better coverage than AT&T.

Good luck with your videos.

You can save any file to the local hard drive, on a case by case basis. Which is perfect
