or not... because there should not be so little callousing on my tootsies that blistering occurs.

And yet...

I think I'm gonna name him "Pinky Rollins" because it's on my pinkie and it looks like a frownie upside downey "smile".

When I was younger I used to have the most ridiculous callouses on my fretting fingers, and also on my right hand thumb and middle finger (which I use to pluck). They were like hard leather.

These days they're soft, almost like they're not even there, and yet I play just as hard as I did back then. Heavy strings, lots of brute force, and I really twang. How come I don't get any soreness or blistering?

I often neglect my geetar for many months, as sad as that sounds, and it doesn't take long for those finger tips to turn silky soft again... Bit of a nuisance...

I remember having callouses when I started learning guitar, but they aren't there now, my fingertips are quite soft. I play every day but don't get sore fingers. I thought maybe the gardening work has something to do with it, but I wear gloves most of the time for that.

I certainly think that playing every day helps, for sure.

I played my guitar this morning... Had to pack in after an hour because my fingers just couldn't take it (well, me, I meant, I'm a wuss).

note to self: Play More Guitar!

I guess I hadn't really been playing for quite some time as I nerdlinged up some editing crap. I had been playing quite a bit of bass for a while (unplugged with no back trax to get some parts hammered out). That unfortunately led to some kind of pinched nerve bullpuckey under my shoulder blade which has been driving me BONKERS for a couple weeks now.

Anyhoo... after all the time edits and migrating everything back into SONAR I went a little cray cray laying some test guit overdubs. There's a very minor chunk of flesh missing from my forefinger but that doesn't seem to be a problem. The blister is on my pinkie and is literally a perfect string blister. It's like slightly thicker than a low E string and as noted earlier looks cartoonishly like a frown.

I've been tempted to pull out a Sharpie and give ole frowny a couple googly eyes.

Just because I'm a doofus like that.

Well... I guess it's (debatebly) better than being hard and having nowhere to put it.
