I've seen some interesting mods for the MXL 2001 and some others. I have an original 2001 and have been thinking about getting a MOD kit for it. I'll be interested to see more of what you are doing and how it turns out. A ground up kit is really interesting. That is hw I learned to build simple Fender Tweed amp clones. I bought a kit then went from that to building from parts. I still have trouble if I try to go straight from a schematic,  a wiring diagram really helps me. I am excited for you Mike...

Is yours the same as their 279.00 ready built tube mic?
 
I have their site saved now and have GAS for it. I am going to order when and if they get the TOTL kit restocked. Thanks for posting this!

I hope they provide more schematics than that. Where are the tube to cable to cord schematics?
