I think I mentioned before that my youngest daughter is learning violin. She's (thankfully) beyond the strangled cat stage and progressing well.
Our county has a few orchestras (orchestrae?) for young people (kids) that are supported by the local councils to encourage young musicians. Once a year they all join up for a concert.
String Celebration 2012 was this years offering. 17 Double bass, over 50 Cellos more than 250 violins/violas, 4 percusionists, 5 harps and a piano. The largest orchestra I've seen/heard in one place.
I took a bit of video with my iPhone. I appologise for the "soft" focus... I didn't realise the stupid thing had locked focus on the womans head sat right infront of me!
Also, I managed to sit in probably the only seat where I couldn't actually see Ellie... so I've maked her in the video. She somewhere in the middle of the 2nd violins, just infront of the bass drum.
Enjoy.
